About the Program
The Alliance for Cardiometabolic Health and Research – Kenya (ACMHR-K) invites application for its First Training Program (2026 Edition). This pioneering program aims to enhance the prevention and management of cardiometabolic diseases by building professional capacity across three key pillars: science, nutrition, and public health.
The six-session training will bring together leading international and Kenyan experts who will deliver interactive lectures and mentorship sessions via Zoom. Participants will explore the latest insights on the burden of cardiometabolic diseases in Kenya, health Policy and Practice, and the relationship between cardiometabolic health risks and metabolic process, gut microbiota, nutrition, and African medicinal herbs.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion during a graduation ceremony in Nairobi, where they will also be officially recognized as ACMHR-K Ambassadors.
NOTE: ACMHR-K will offer this event free of charge to all selected participants, and no participant will be required to pay any fees.
Program Structure
• Duration: 3 weeks (7th - 28th February 2026)
• Schedule: 6 sessions (2 sessions per week)
• Mode: Online (via Zoom)-interactive lectures and discussions
• Graduation: Physical ceremony in Nairobi on 10th March 2026.

Eligibility
• Open to Kenyan students and professionals with a background in the health sciences, including medicine, public health, nutrition and dietetics, biomedical sciences, and related fields.
• Applicants MUST have or are currently pursuing a diploma or higher degree in a relevant field
• Must have a stable internet connection
• Demonstrated interest in the health sciences. Priority will be given to those who have shown interest in cardiometabolic health
• MUST be available to attend all sessions to be awarded certificate of completion and recognized as ACMHR-K ambassador. Certificate will ONLY be awarded upon full attendance and completion of assignments
• MUST be available to travel to Nairobi for the award of certificate and graduation ceremony. Priority will be given to applicants based around Nairobi and neighboring regions, although the application is open to individuals across Kenya.

• Applicants will be selected based on the quality of their applications. Gender and professional balance will be taken into consideration

3. Non-students must submit a copy of their highest academic certificate, while students must submit an admission letter from a recognized Kenyan university.
